Chain link is the most practical fence there is: quick to build, hard to damage and cheaper per foot than anything else. We install galvanized and black vinyl-coated chain link for back yards, dog runs, side yards and commercial property. A 4-foot galvanized fence typically runs $12 to $20 a foot installed in Cape Coral.
Galvanized or black coated
Galvanized fabric is the familiar silver chain link, zinc-coated against rust and the cheapest option. Black vinyl-coated fabric, with matching black posts and rails, costs a little more and nearly disappears against a lawn or landscaping, which is why most homeowners pick it for anything visible from the lanai. On a lot near salt water, the coating also gives the steel a second layer of protection.
One thing we won't sell you: privacy slats
Many people ask for slats woven through chain link to block the view. Cape Coral's code lists chain link as an allowed fence material only without slats, and unincorporated Lee County and Fort Myers both prohibit slats or fabric used for screening too. If you want privacy, we'll show you vinyl or wood instead, or a chain link run with a hedge planted along it.
Commercial fencing
For storage yards, contractor lots, shops, rental properties and job sites, chain link with heavier posts and a lockable gate is hard to beat on cost. We build commercial runs up to the height allowed for the zoning, add double drive gates or walk gates where trucks and staff need them, and work around business hours where we can. Aluminum is the tidier choice for a storefront or office frontage; we quote both if you're unsure.
Chain link and pools
Chain link can serve as a pool barrier if the mesh is small enough. The Florida Building Code limits the opening to 2¼ inches square for a pool barrier, and the gate still has to be self-closing and self-latching. For most pools, aluminum looks better for a similar price; see our pool fence page.

About these prices: Chain link prices here come from Fort Myers and Cape Coral installers' 2026 figures. Fabric gauge, post weight and how many terminal posts the layout needs all shift the price, and we put the final figure in writing after the visit.
